Informed Consent
Legal information
Your information is protected by federal law 42 CFR Part II once you are a client at Abintra Counseling Center.  As such, we are prohibited from making any disclosure of your information, unless further disclosure is expressly permitted by written consent of the person to whom it pertains, or as otherwise permitted by 42 CFR Part 2. There are notable exceptions to this rule, including a "Duty to Warn" if we you disclose information about an intent to harm youreself or another, or disclose information about abuse.  A general authorization for the release of medical or other information is NOT sufficient for this purpose. The Federal Rules restrict any use of the information to criminally investigate or prosecute any alcohol or drug abuse patient.
